LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — Fresh off a podium finish at the Smash Open 2026 in Boston 2026, LIBC professional athlete Iqbal Aji Tri Pamungkas has reached another significant milestone in his career, renewing his sponsorship with VICTOR for a second consecutive year.
The announcement comes after Iqbal captured third place in the Men's Singles division at the Smash Open, one of the top badminton tournaments in the United States. The event attracted a highly competitive field from across the country and featured one of the largest prize pools in American badminton, with a $10,000 first-place, $5,000 2nd place, & 1,000 3rd place.
Tournament organizers have already expressed their commitment to making the Smash Open an even bigger international event next year. Plans are underway to increase the prize money further while attracting more world-class athletes, with the goal of showcasing stronger international competition and seeing more international players standing on the podium.
For Iqbal, finishing on the podium in such a prestigious event reinforces his position as one of LIBC's premier athletes. Throughout the tournament, he displayed composure, technical precision, and resilience against a deep field of talented competitors, adding another impressive result to his growing resume.
The timing of his VICTOR sponsorship renewal reflects the confidence the global badminton brand continues to place in his potential. Beyond providing world-class rackets, footwear, apparel, and equipment, the partnership gives Iqbal access to the tools needed to compete at the highest level. Having equipment engineered for elite performance allows him to focus entirely on his training and preparation as he pursues bigger titles in the seasons ahead.

Iqbal states, “This podium finish is very meaningful to me because it feels like my comeback. I missed the Frisco Badminton Open last May, one of the biggest tournaments in the U.S. with a $150,000 prize pool, because I had just welcomed my first baby. Coming back to the podium after that moment means a lot. It pushed me mentally and physically while learning how to balance training, competition, and being a first-time dad.”
"Iqbal continues to represent everything we value at LIBC : discipline, professionalism, and a relentless drive to improve," LIBC management said. "We're proud to see VICTOR continue supporting his journey, and we believe his best badminton is still ahead of him."
As the season continues, Iqbal is focused on building on the momentum from his podium finish in Boston. He remains committed to training every day while balancing life as a first-time father. With the continued support of VICTOR and LIBC, his goal is to turn podium finishes into tournament titles.
